Automatic transmissions from a supplier, not a builder
Several Changan models use Aisin automatic transmissions rather than an in-house dual-clutch unit. That is good news for buyers: the transmission is durable, and the service parts — fluid, filters, solenoids — follow a known Aisin pattern rather than a brand-specific one.
It also means the failure pattern differs from Geely or Chery. Changan buyers report fewer gearbox problems and more suspension and cooling issues, which is where we concentrate stock for this brand.
Body parts and the Uni series
The Uni series has complex front-end geometry — split headlamps, a grille that wraps into the bumper, and trim pieces that clip into each other. A minor front-end impact often needs four or five parts rather than one, and the clips are as important as the panels.
